Emergency Shelter Information
When residents of Bethel and Tate Township hear our hazardous weather siren, the first thing
they need to do is to turn on the television or a radio. If the news is advising that you need to
take immediate shelter...do that immediately.  If you do not have a safe place to go, go to
William Bick Elementary School at 101 Fossyl Drive.  This is the designated shelter for our area
in the event of a weather emergency.  If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact
Chief Rick Stowell at 734-4444 or via email
here.

St. Mary's Recreational Center is the designated temporary emergency shelter for Bethel and
Tate Township.  This shelter will be activated in the event a disaster should strike our area.  This
could range from a very lengthy power outage to a tornado striking an area of our township.  The
shelter would be used for temporarily accommodating those that are directly affected by such
disasters.  The shelter shall be activated at the discretion of emergency services due to
extreme devastation/circumstances.  Although this shelter is in place, it is still good practice to
anticipate such disasters and have a contingency planned beforehand.  Once again if you have
any questions or concerns please contact Chief Rick Stowell at 734-4444 or via email
here.
